posted Feb 21, 2015, 10:03 PM by The Administrator

Invite: California Dressage Society Sacramento Valley Dressage Chapter Rider Biomechanics Presentation and Social Event

Sat February 28th  6pm Wine and Treats!

Presenter: Megan Soske has generously donated a presentation to our SVC members

Topic Overview:

The Rider's Body - are you inhibiting your horse?

Most of us focus on our horse's well being. That his training is going in the right direction, that he gets massages and chiropractic adjustments, etc.. What many of us forget is that the most consistent impact on his body is from the rider's body. If we are stuck in our right hip or tend to collapse, rotate or lean right - is it any wonder that he is not straight?

Take an hour to explore how the rider's asymmetries limit our independent seat, make a lead difficult to get or make one leg yield or half-pass better/worse than the other. We'll explore a little of your bio-mechanics, and how they might be impacting your horse. Few of us were born with bodies meant for riding, but all of us can improve our communication skills by improving our own movement abilities.
